From 17th August to 20th, Minneapolis hosted the World Brewing Congress 2024. This event gathered experts, researchers and industrial leaders from around the world to discuss and exchange ideas on cutting-edge developments in the brewing industry. Among the many highlights was the contribution from Christoph Neugrodda and Valadis Karatairis, who represented, together with Prof. Thomas Becker, the chair of Brewing and Beverage Technology (TUM). They presented their latest research focused on foam stability and filtration challenges in bottom-fermented beers – topics of significant importance in brewing science. Beyond the presentations and poster sessions, the congress offered a much-anticipated opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and forge new collaborations. At the end of the event, we left with fresh ideas and a commitment to keep pushing the boundaries of brewing science. (ck)
